REI Senior Merchandising Analyst in Seattle, Washington

Overview

At REI Co-op, we believe a life outdoors is well lived. As a Senior Merchandising Analyst, you will shape the product offering at the Co-op. Partner with merchants, planners, finance, strategy, and other stakeholders to understand business needs, align on insights, and communicate across the organization. You will also work to embed advanced analytics into regular business processes.

Your work includes finding actionable insights in data, building and maintaining dashboards, and structuring datasets. Success means integrating data driven insights, business modeling, and measurement frameworks into existing business processes to drive transformative merchandising strategies.

  • Uses data to find insights, issues, opportunities, trends, and root causes. Communicates recommendations to merchandising, cross-functional teams, and leadership.

  • Creates, maintains, and improves weekly, monthly, and event Tableau reports. Examines actual results and variances to plan. Communicates results to Merchandising Planning and Product leadership.

  • Develops advanced analytics and tools to support multiple Merchandising roles.

  • Designs, builds, develops, automates, and maintains datasets to support analysis and insights using SQL, Python, Git, and DBT.

  • Understands merchandising and planning processes to apply analytics at the right points.

  • Initiates and maintains effective partnerships with cross-divisional stakeholders.

  • Manages projects, scopes, timelines, and deliverables.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in analytics, exceptional preference for experience in omni-channel retail and/or merchandising

  • Proven business understanding and exceptional ability to evaluate, interpret results, and make recommendations to all organization levels.

  • Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities

  • Proven experience building alignment and structure from ambiguity

  • Ability to autonomously set project goals, establish priorities, and plan appropriately to meet and exceed expectations

  • Exceptional SQL skills. Basic understanding of statistical methods. Advanced data visualization application. Experience with Tableau or Sigma preferred.

  • Dedication to quality and accuracy worthy of all audiences, from executive level to individual contributors

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field like statistics, economics, business, engineering, or math. Master's degree or MBA preferred.

Pay Range

$96,400.00 - $154,300.00 per year
